What do you do professionally, and why do you TA for OMSCS?

I serve as an Instructional Associate at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where I instruct graduate-level courses focusing on machine and reinforcement learning for the Online Master of Science in Computer Science (OMSCS) program. My academic journey has been enriched by my pursuit of knowledge at both the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo and the Georgia Institute of Technology. I earned my BS and MS degrees in Computer Science and have previous experience as a software developer.

Currently residing in Ithaca, NY, I actively explore innovative avenues to enhance the capabilities of AI systems and have been recently considering returning to school to pursue a PhD. My research interests revolve around investigating the boundaries and limitations of big data methods, aiming to provide insights that contribute to the progress of AI technology and its alignment with human needs.

What is your advice for future OMSCS students?

Buckle up and enjoy the ride!

What's your best study hack?

My top study hack involves creating a crib sheet for every exam. If notes are permitted during the test, I bring it with me; otherwise, I memorize the content. I go through all the course material, taking detailed notes, and then distill the essential information onto a single front/back page. This process not only helps me clarify important concepts but also highlights any knowledge gaps I may have.
