Local Meetup Groups

Local meetup groups are a way for students and alumni around the world to connect with others in the OMSCS community who live in their area. Meetup groups currently exist in 30 cities and 5 countries, and more are added regularly!

OMSCS Conference

The OMSCS Conference brings together OMSCS students and alumni to: share their projects and research; network with each other, faculty, and staff; connect with student services; and explore Georgia Tech's beautiful campus. The conference occurs at the end of each Spring semester and is a hybrid (in-person and virtual) event.

Project Showcase

The OMSCS Project Showcase occurs every Fall and Spring semester and gives students the chance to virtually present the projects they worked on in their courses that semester. Each semester, awards are given to both the students' choice and the OMSCS staff's choice for best project.

Welcome Week

All new OMSCS students are invited to participate in OMSCS Welcome Week at the beginning of their first semester. This is an opportunity to meet other new students, get to know OMSCS faculty and staff, and learn more about the program and Georgia Tech!

Coffee Hours

Some OMSCS faculty members offer bi-weekly virtual coffee hours, open to all OMSCS students. There are no set agendas or presentations; rather, the coffee hours are an opportunity for casual conversation among students and OMSCS faculty.

Student Center and Slack Workspace

The OMSCS Student Center—accessed online through Canvas—is a centralized hub that provides students with a variety of resources, information, and history about the program. Additionally, the OMSCS Student Life Slack workspace provides an avenue for students to chat about courses, socialize, form study groups, and more!

Campus Tour

At the end of each Fall and Spring semester, immediately preceding the College of Computing Dean's New Alumni Celebration, graduating alumni and their families are invited on a tour of Georgia Tech's campus. The tour visits the major parts of campus and includes information about the history of Georgia Tech.
